Wisdom begins in Wonder – Socrates
Our research begins in wonder. The topics we investigate are complex, but important. Often, our work requires extenisive, time consuming research. We need to translate complex but important topics and research insights, into accurate research reports. That is our challenge. We present new, important and complex research to a big audience. Next, our research support the critical and informed thinking of millions of people
We collaborate with subject-matter experts, including academics and specialists, to provide comprehensive insights into the complex issues shaping our world today. Our commitment to intellectual integrity and academic rigor drives our mission to deliver high-quality research that informs.
Our work is summarized in research reports. These reports are somewhat similar to academic papers. We provide a well-written and detailled set of documents. Also, all references, communication with experts and background data are included. Sometimes we add datafiles, graphical illustrations and images.
We present all research files in an online environment that allows our partners to get faimilar with the topic and diligintly check our findings and sources.
We offer access to selected partners that fit with the topic, on the basis of (national) exclusivity or broad access. Our work is ready to be used by editiors, research teams and journalists.

Subject: The Anti-Lobby
Description: This research project delves into a less explored aspect of pharmaceutical lobbying — activities not aimed at expediting research, regulatory approvals, protocol modifications, or revenue enhancement. Instead, it focuses on efforts to decelerate the adoption of innovative medicines and protocols created by competitors, aiming to safeguard entrenched interests. This form of lobbying poses potential risks to patient well-being and societal health, raising ethical and regulatory questions. Our investigation seeks to uncover the scope and impact of these practices, shedding light on their implications for healthcare progress and public trust.

Subject: Tourism Mono-Culture
Description: Europe is renowned for its myriad of touristic landmarks, attracting a significant influx of international visitors each year. This surge in tourism has spurred growth across numerous countries, regions, and cities, impacting various aspects of daily life and economic vitality. However, the increasing tourism also raises concerns about the livability of these cities. Often, the transformation of city landscapes—characterized by a proliferation of tourist-centric shops, restaurants, and experiences—leads to a perceived decline in livability. This phenomenon, commonly referred to as tourism monoculture, results in a homogenized urban fabric that prioritizes tourist needs over local quality of life.
In response to these developments, the Hermes research project delves into the concept of tourism monoculture across various European cities. We have developed the Tourism Monoculture Index, a pioneering tool that ranks cities based on the prevalence of tourism-driven monoculture. Accompanying this index, the Monoculture Atlas provides a comprehensive analysis, linking the growth of tourism monoculture to its effects on urban livability. Additionally, this atlas incorporates personal perspectives, offering a nuanced understanding of how monoculture impacts the lives of both residents and visitors.
